About Multiple Choices

Pat Horne, her daughter, Casey Rutledge and her two young daughters, Bunny and Ellie, comprise the three generations of ideas for filling the shelves of Multiple Choices. (the latter two are responsible for the ever enlarging baby department!)

The original Multiple Choices, opened in 1985, is located in downtown Winnetka, a charming village 16 miles north of Chicago, which prides itself on having independent specialty shops and friendly customer service. The second Multiple Choices, opened in 2001, on Lincoln Park's Armitage Avenue, a four block area which features over 40 one of a kind specialty shops much like those in Winnetka. Both offer a refreshing departure from the shopping mall experience.

Over the years, Multiple Choices has participated in the Chicago Botanic Gardens "Celebrations" with festive table settings, numerous Housewalks and charity boutiques, including the St Chrysostoms' Holiday Faire. In the fall of 2002, Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, the president of the Vera Bradley company, came for a trunk show in her home town of Winnetka.

Multiple Choices has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Pioneer Press, North Shore magazine, Lucky magazine, Home World Business and Tableware Today.
